The beginning of the end

What a way to start July. Oh so bleak.

Today, there was the Otago University Placement briefing by SELSET.

Get this:

There are only 2 placements MAX for Dentistry students.

There's five of us. Do the math. Mrs. Carol from SELSET explicitly told us to look for alternatives. It was a shock alright. NOBODY ever told us there're only 2 placements.

Then I asked her if this meant that the remaining three of us are doomed? (Of course I didn't word the question like this. I'm not completely tactless...). And she pretty much said "Yes." And what's more, it is subtly but very discreetly implied that there is even the possibility that NONE of us will get placed.

I was surprised but it ain't the numb-f**k-just-shoot-me-now kind of shock I felt when JPA rejected my PILN shoclarship application (before my successful appeal, that is).

I can't imagine what the other 4 students who share this bleak prospects were going through. I mean, I'm pretty much resigned since I started scouring the net for the said 'alternatives' (that being IMU's promising twinning programme). I mean, why would I be planning a plan B if I wasn't sure that plan A is going to the dogs aite?

But these other 4 students...I'm pretty sure they're the go-getter types with excellent results. Okay, make that 3. I already know what sort of insane test results one of them always score. It must have felt like a shot straight to the heart...or face, I believe. I feel sorry for them (I'm done with feeling sorry for myself). They don't deserve this. It's unjustified to spring this onto us. It is OUR oblivion-like impending doom, it ought to be OUR right to know of it earlier at least.

Then again, this is life we're talking about. When is life, ever justified? Never.

Not to mention the interviews. We shall be interviewed by Uni Otago's Dean of Dental School himself. We need to prepare 4 essays to submit to him on 30th July. On the same day, we'll be having a writing test and an interview. And oh, a presentation that we need to attend. Stressful much? Heck yeah.

At this stage, all this is absolutely mechanical to me. Just going through the motions. I've been this numb since sem 2. Of no feeling whatsoever.

Dentistry was absurd in the first place. But all this? Is a whole new level of absurdity. I shan't debate this no more. The futility of it only aggravates me more. Enough.

Hello, July. Be gentle. Keep me alive.

Ever So Inclined

Should I ever feel so inclined to drown or hide, I've books. Should I ever feel so inclined to forgive and forget, I've music. But Time is cruel, as always. Reality is twisted by it. Or is it the other way around? Doesn't matter.

Same old, same old. Am about to get shipped off back to college this Sunday.

The only comfort is that I didn't receive that letter for Parent-Lecturer's Day which is next Monday. There's still tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Three days for that letter to arrive, if it should be so inclined to arrive. Hopefully not, because that would be a rather excessively despicable trick to play at the expense of my shredded self-confidence (or what's left of it anyway) in my academic capabilities.

I'd like to be an under-achiever among THE achievers at least. Grant me that and I'd be at peace with myself for a few moments. Grant me that at least and I shall have a renewed sense of achievement and will go the extra length for the remaining 4 months of college.

Academic insecurities aside...

I watched Red Dragon (2002) just now. Dr. Hannibal Lectre is one creepy psycho. 'Disturbing', is an understatement. I could almost smell the Fear (the protagonist's played by dearest Edward Norton) and unfortunately, my own. Scared witless. No shit.

P.S: Right this second, I kinda despise college. Hurry up November. I want out.

Apocalyptic

Ohohoho. I feel like posting every existing video of The Strokes' live performances on youtube right here. Seriously. Aaaaaaa, yeah. I'm feeling crumby because I had a Maths test this afternoon. Enough said, no? Hah.

Am having my study leave break now. Mid year exams starts next Friday until Wednesday. Got 5 papers to sit for. And guess what? I heard from a friend of mine who attended the exam briefing, that us Pharmacy and Dentistry bound students are supposed to get an average of 90% at least. If we don't our parents are gonna be called to the Parent-Lecturer's Day. I'm not concerned with having my parents coming over, it's just that...an average of 90% is. IMPOSSIBLE for me.

Talking about the impossible. Frankly, I'm absolutely certain that I'm not going to be able to get a TER 96 and fly off to Otago next February. Uhuh. Yeap. I'm resting all my hopes on JPA's mercy and my plan B of doing Dentistry twinning in IMU (2.5 years) and then to University of Sydney, Australia (2.5 years). The requirement is TER85 only, which is perfectly feasible for me. This, truly, is the ONLY thing that keeps me going at the moment (plus The Strokes, of course).

I'm a rationalist. I don't deceive myself, not often anyway. I know what my limits are. Yeah, yeah, this sounds like the ultimatum of a Defeatist too doesn't it? But hey, it's not like I'm giving up or something. I'm just licking my wounds and trying to comfort myself. The pressure just depresses me. Terribly so. You know what it's like, aite? When you find that absolutely nothing interests you anymore and feel the great emptiness of 'my life is pointless' settle in those quiet times in the edifices of your solitary mind?

That aside, I just finished formulating my 'study schedule' for the Mid Year exams. Just like the good ol' days in high school. Haha, those days when I used to list down the things I need to study, within a time frame, WHICH I NEVER manage to keep up with. Aha. The idea is not to really stick to it, it just helps you realize the NEED to study since there's a bunch of subjects to tackle.

Enough with the boring stuff.

FUN stuff:

I, am going to the TOKIO HOTEL concert in One Utama tomorrow!

YEAYYY. Haha. I already planned to attend it but gave up since you gotta get their HUMANOID album to get the free pass. I mean, I don't love them or anything, they pique my interest a little. So, when my cousin called me up yesterday saying she has two tickets she got for free from a friend, why the hell not? I am SO going to enjoy watching the Kaulitz twins. Hahahhaa.

My MAIN reasons for wanting to go to the concert are:

1. I wanna hear 'Monsoon' live. I hope they sing it!
2. Bill's HAIR. No shit. He is the spawn of Sonic the Hedgehog I tell you. If only it's indigo blue.

______________________________________________________

P.S: I'm posting this anyway. AND OH! I've also just realized that in this song (4 Chord Of The Apocalypse) by Jules, there's this bit in the lyrics "It's nice to be important, etc etc, but it's more important to be nice". WHICH IS my favourite quote from the great ROGER FEDERER! Jules and Roger unified! MAGNIFICENT no? hahaha.

SO, enjoy.

Farewell, Dedalus.

I'm done reading it, returned it to the library just now. Am very very sad to have parted with it. For once, I feel like snatching a book from a library haha but I didn't! Honest. I really did return the book, very grudgingly so, but I did.

I know it's illegal and all to underline and scribble stuff in library books but what the heck, I'm the first person in two years to borrow it! It's not like I wrote anything bad in it. I scribbled a couple of words only anyway. Shouldn't matter much. I underline the bits that I love because honestly, the prose! Absolutely beautiful!

Here's some of my faves:

"...for the words, so beautiful and sad, like music."

"Pride and hope and desire, like crushed herbs in his heart sent up vapours of maddening incense into the eyes of his mind."

"...a leader afraid of his own authority, proud and sensitive, battling against the squalor of his life and against the riot of his mind."

"...His thinking was a dusk of doubt and selfmistrust, lit up by the lightnings of intuition, but lightnings of so clear a spelndour that in those moments the world perished about his feet as if it had been fire consumed: and thereafter his tongue grew heavy and he met the eyes of others with unanswering eyes for he felt that the spirit of beauty had folded him round like a mantle and that in reverie at least he had been acquainted with nobility."

"Pity is the feeling which arrests the mind in the presence of whatsoever is grave and constant in human sufferings and unites it with the sufferer. Terror is the feeling which arrests the mind in the presence of whatsoever is grave and constant in human sufferings and unites it with the secret cause."

There's like a BUNCH more I'd like to post up but esh, that would be excessive. Stephen Dedalus, beautiful, Stephen Dedalus. I adore him, yet I despise him too. It's difficult to explain why.

At any rate, I did finish studying Biology last night so I that I'd be able to have my slice of escapism. Haha.

P.S: This is sort of terrible...but, I got my hands on:

- 'The Image Of Chekov: Forty Stories by Anton Chekov in the Order in Which They Were Written' with an introduction by Robert Payne.

- 'The Stories of Vladimir Nobokov'. A compilation of Nobokov's short stories.

I intend to read these during my semester break beginning 17th, well okay, 21st May. I've BTN starting 17th May til 21st, in Sepang :S

It's not May yet.

I know, I know. I intended not to blog about anything til May. But hey, I 'intend' a LOT of things. Sue me. Anyway, I just feel like sharing my unfortunate experience of the IELTS exam I took last Friday and Saturday.

I barely slept the night before thanks to mr. Rain. It rained heavily that night and when it does, the rooftop thingy over my window makes a TONNE of racket with the rain drops pelting it and all. Finally fell asleep at 3:45A.M. And so, I was pretty much half asleep during the reading, listening and writing exams.

SPEAKING - Okay I guess. I mean, it wasn't 'Good' but it wasn't 'Disastrous' either. Kind of like a mini train wreck shall we say?

READING - Again, okay. It wasn't too hard.

LISTENING - Is Okay too.

Let's get to the point of this post shall we?

WRITING.

Yeap. This, I totally screwed this up. First things first, there's two parts to this component. The report bit I did okay I think. It's the other part.

Question:

"Everyone in the world wants to own a car, television set and refrigerator. Does the disadvantages of these developments to the society outweigh the advantages?"

Something like that.

I wrote an extremely shitty answer coloured with undertones of my repressed...'mind' that surfaced due to my being sleepy. The subconscious is a lethal part of your mind if not restrained appropriately, I assure you.

Firstly, I concluded the statement was about 'materialism'.

Then I came up with wild ideas. I even used the word 'ineffectual' at some point in the essay.

And I definitely remember writing these: 'the world will fall to its ruin' and 'humanity will become extinct' and 'social class gap akin to that of kings and slaves of medieval times'.

Get the picture?

My 'essay' was basically a rant on the vices of materialism to humanity.

I particularly despise the word 'ineffectual' now. Thanks to my utilising that particular word in my disastrous piece of writing. Lack of sleep taxed my reserves so I grabbed at anything that flitted through my fatigued mind.

The word 'ineffectual' I only found out about a couple of hours before the exams. I was reading James Joyce's 'A Potrait Of The Artist As A Young Man' in the bus on the way to college to keep myself from falling asleep.

That's all. I'm gonna go study now.

See you in May

I've had my week of indulgence :) Yeap. I went to class only to tune out whatever's being said and went back home only to melt into a puddle of Hugh and went to sleep only to dream of November.

Wonderful week indeed.

Now I shall face the music and do whatever I can to fix myself before 7th of May. Because really, there's no beauty in misery without the glory. Though I'm most likely not gonna attain anything 'colourful' I'd like to believe that I actually did, try.

Hopefully, this time around, CARPE DIEM won't be quite so impossible.

P.S: I ain't giving up Hugh though. 'In betweens' are 'In betweens' y'know.

My Future Is Hanging By A Thread

It's been a while huh. The significance of my life now lays in the hands of never ending assignments, quizzes and tests that just never cease to pile up. I've tests and quizzes every freaking week, sometimes twice a week! They're usually at night too. Freaking annoying. Say hello to SAM (South Australian Matriculation) though they call it AUSMAT in INTEC, it's actually SAM.

Had a terrible chemistry test last week. It was difficult as HECK. Chemistry was NEVER that hard before! Organic chemistry is interesting but applied questions can be tricky. ESPECIALLY when you only have 1hour 10mins to answer a BUNCH of structure questions + an essay. The lecturers did it on purpose. I swear they did. Just to trip us up so that we'll kick ourselves into overdrive for the mid year exam in May.

Got my biology test paper too, got ANOTHER accursed B, 76% this time. Only one person in my class got A, 84% (Rabihah yg comel). Aaaaa...and guess what? I saw the biology marks of this other chinese guy who's gonna do dentistry in NZ (me too, hopefully) from another class. He got 90% for test 1 and 93% for the recent one. Like, DAMN. I feel worthless. I NEED those kind of marks. Dentistry's TER for Uni Otago is TER96 yo! Haish.

That aside, my IELTS test is in 2 weeks. On the 23rd and 24th April. Egh. Abaikan.

What else? I don't know. I'm not even going to bother writing bout maths, EVER. I'll just do what I can, and hopefully I'll land myself an A sometime soon. THEN, I'll write something bout maths.

Hurry up MAY, end soon Mr. April. I wanna bade goodbye to you. I only have one week of mid year exams in May (the 2nd week). 1st week, got one week holiday (Study Leave for Mid Year exams), after exams it's SEM BREAK oh yeahhhhhhhhhhhh. One month :) (Mid May til Mid June).

Then we'll be studying without breaks til August. September got mid sem break again + Trials. October, nothing I suppose. Just REVISE REVISE REVISE. Then finally, the real SACE exams (1st November til 10th November).

So you see? I'm trying to keep myself focused and motivated here. Wish me luck. I'll be needing lots of it.

P.S: Bought myself a new book last weekend, Tender Morsels by Margo Laganan. It's DISTURBING, yet...I don't know. It's quite poetic, the tragedy of it and all. Never read anything like it before. And to think it's a YA book...the themes are rather mature. A fantasy, a dark fantasy. And I mean that really, and NO not dark as in werewolves + vampires + suave cardboard musterious heros...rubbish. There's not even a dude in it :S besides the psycho dad n the weird midget.

Black Sheep

Got C for my FIRST math Quiz. It is LOADS better than last sem's but I, am STILL, a BELOW average maths student. *feels like cussing* I'm a math retard, I need to fix this quick. I'll work HARDER for an A. I can do it, I know I can. *glares at her maths test paper* *feels the urge to hit her head against the wall* Damn.

Egh, that aside. I'm doing okay I suppose. Nothing much happened* I'm on a relatively good terms with everybody, not that I ever get into fights anyway, which is kinda impossible for me since I limit social interactions to a minimum.

Anyway, I think my new classmates seem to have figured out that I'm a loner haha. I don't 'flock' with anybody, I'm unaffliated (I actually wrote a poem bout this but I deem it much too revealing of me to post it :S), the black sheep that bleats at a different pitch (damn, well, that's actually part of the poem...). Egh. I'm fine with it being this way, but it's quite a shock when sometimes the thought that I'm actually spending most of my time in my head hits me with such clarity. It's a little disarming, that's all.

What else? Oh, I had my chemistry test last NIGHT. Yeah, it's horrendous to spend 14 hours straight in class/halls etc. I think I did ok but I knew I did not perform at a level I expected I'm capable of. That of course, left me with that familiar and nasty feeling of 'inadequacy'. When you have expectations without the effort and preparation to back it up, expect to be disappointed. Merely one of the life's rules that I often contemplate in my abundance of 'living in my head' sessions.

Quizzes and tests aside, Chinese New Year break starts in 2 days. I'm going to work hard on my maths this holiday. I also plan to wash my car, bathe my cats and maybe go for a movie or something but mostly, I plan to study.

Oh yeah, Ain is flying off this Sunday. Yeap, the time has come for her to flip the page and enter a new chapter of her life as a university student. It gets me thinking, a lot. Which makes me anxious of course. Contemplating future related things ALWAYS makes me anxious. I fret on my bad maths marks mostly, and the shaky possibility of me getting a good TER to fly to New Zealand and do a degree in Dental Surgery (University of Otago, Dunedin, NZ).

I'm also reading Dostoevsky (or Dostoyevsky)'s The Brothers Karamazov. Borrowed it from Mai. The book has an odd scent (yes, I sniff the books I read), the usual yellowed paper scent with a hint of something sharp. I don't know, it keeps flitting in my head that it smells...'sharp' when I read it. It also has traces of what appears to be talcum powder haha. Entahla, barang kepunyaan Maisarah, siapa yang tahu bukan? Mungkin pernah disembur racun lipas :P Jk jk.

I've only read 4 chapters, so far it is highly interesting. It's been a while since I read such thought provoking works. To top it off, the guy is apparently, arguably one of the best authors to have lived and The Brothers Karamazov is his last work, also considered his greatest. It gives your mind something to chew, doesn't it?

That's it really. I've nothing more that I wish to elaborate on. Bye.

* - Besides me taking a whole week off for a mini family reunion in Melbourne, Australia 16/1 - 1/2. We watched tennis. It was epic. Something I'd like to keep in my private thoughts. Some things are simply that precious to me.

2nd Week of 2nd Sem.

Mercu tanda INTEC, Uitm, Shah Alam - Library.

I just got back from Ain's house to consult some mathematical 'difficulties' hehe. Practically her whole family gave it a shot and helped me out ;P In the end, it was her dad who's the Math genius that got it right. Her second brother (who's also called Arief, like my elder bro, Arif) also helped out.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I'm different this sem. I mean I feel TOTALLY okay with college now. Yeap. I no longer brood in my dark moods or succumb to my anxieties in respond to the uncertainities of academic-related stuff. I also no longer count the days to the second waiting for Fridays (to go back home for the weekends). I've also stopped obsessing over my fixation to 'mingle' no, to 'TRY to mingle'. I do my own thing nowadays and don't feel guilty about it at all. Haha. Now THAT is a break through. I think. *shrugs*

I'm set on doing my best for that TER96. I aim for 97 just to be safe. I've been setting my mind to this since the sem break but what really gave me an extra push was this thing that a lecturer mentioned during our briefing in the first week of my 2nd sem. She said:

"If you want something you've never gotten,
you must do something you've never done."

After she said this, it was all I could think of. I kinda closed into myself and pondered it for the rest of the dull briefing.

These words went right through me like an arrow. With it, my second thoughts of "can I actually make this happen? Can I really stop being a slacker-perfectionist-wannabe self that is, ME?" are gone.

NO, I am not the kind of person who believes/easily influenced by what motivators/speech givers say like most people. I've always had this belief that whatever this person-on-the-stage is saying, all of it has truths and fallacies like everything else in this world. But I do believe in the power of 'words', the unyielding simplicity of it. Which is another contradictory character of mine. To put it simply, I am resistant to being susceptible to words but only because I BELIEVE in being susceptible to words. Get it? No? Nevermind.

That aside, I'm happy. :) I am now a wannabe 'go getter'. Haha.

Yes, I still am a loner. A happy one who no longer obsess over trying to 'mingle' to 'fit in'.

To quote a friend of mine:

"kau harus teruskan hidup, dan jangan leka dengan semua hal-hal orang-orang kebanyakan. biarkan mereka dengan mereka. bukannya kau sombong, bukannya kau arrogant, bukannya kau berfikir kau lebih hebat daripada mereka, tapi sebab kau tahu, yang kau berbeza."

And thus, I hope I shall strive for greatness with a new zeal for the rest of this year.

*checks the box that says: Blog something*

Checking the boxes of my life one at a time...

I've a new obsession now, being PRODUCTIVE. Heck yeah.

I'm done with planning things and making check lists of what I want/need to do and not follow up. Check lists are NOT check lists unless the boxes are CHECKED. I'm hell bent on checking those boxes now. My life is now a list of things that needs, that DEMANDS to be done.

And know what? I'm actually happy. I feel LIBERATED. And that is irony. I mean, logically, check lists are pretty darn rigid and constricting but nay. With every little box checked I am slowly cutting myself loose :)

This is brilliant. I am brilliant. Life is brilliant.

Carpe diem.

Light Yagami is no angel

Divine assistance.

Yeah well, I was just chatting to an angel. We talked about music, the weather, and well, school. He plays the piano, recorder and two types of flutes and participates in 6 different orchestras. His English was a little funny but he was real nice :) Oh yes, he lives in Argentina and is 17 years old.

Hahaha. Nah, I just talked to this dude, who's name is Gabriel. He gave me the piano sheets for Devil May Cry 3 and 4's theme songs. It was nice, talking to him. Cheered me up lots.

*sigh*

I still haven't start listing the stuff I need for college and organize a crate of papers/books I got from the seniors for free last year. (Thanks a bunch, Fatimah!). Speaking of which, I've find out what class I'll be in for next sem:

KIRRA

Heck yeah it's funny aite? My first impression was:
"HUH?! K-kira? Raito? Death Note?! HAHA!"
Yeah well. Then the evil vibe of it settled in, like a bad omen. To top it, Fatimah my dearest housemate which I've maimed with my dagger words a couple of months ago, is in a different class! She's in....uh, Illawong if I'm not mistaken. Well, something that ends with 'wong' anyway. :(

I expected there to be only 1 class for students who selected the Malay Studies combo. I'm gonna have to start over, with, making new acquaintances I mean. I've a nasty feeling I'll be talking to Mr.Prick-in-my-head a lot in the near future. Huhh...maybe he'll look like Raito next year, considering my class name and all. That would be swell. (Do note my heavy sarcasm.)

Meh.

I'll just go listen to 'Wonderwall' by oasis some more. Got my hands on the piano sheets this afternoon. Hehe...

The Euthanasia Blues

Today, we discussed Euthanasia a.k.a assisted suicide during Issue Analysis class. I never heard the term before and so, I found today's discussion enlightening. Ms.Albita showed the vid up there to us :)

'Euthanasia' from the greek word ευθανασία meaning 'Good Death' refers to the practice of ending a life in a painless manner. Specifically, we discussed human euthanasia, voluntary and non-voluntary euthanasia. Voluntary euthanasia meaning it is with the consent of the person to be euthanized and the latter being when an individual makes a decision for another person to be euthanized because he or she is incapable of doing so (e.g Comatosed).

This issue raised quite a debate but in majority, my classmates were mainly against euthanasia except for certain extreme conditions. Extreme conditions is pretty darn subjective too. All in all, we were as indecisive as the whole world currently are on the issue. There are too many variables to be considered and when human life enters the equation, it is rendered utterly unresolvable.

Those who were 'against' euthansia talked about individual rights. The main ideas being "Who are we to play god and decide he or she should die?", the possibility of a recovery on the basis of "You might never know" and "Miracles can happen" and "If I only have a {insert short period of time} to live, I would like to 'enjoy' it/be with my loved ones".

If I must choose, then I am AGAINST euthanasia.

Why? For all the reasons stated above.

One more thing, during the discussion somehow I ended up mentioning my late aunt who died of cancer. She was in great pain, was given morphine to curb it but ultimately she died a natural death. Before she breathed her last she was consious, got to talk to her eldest son and eldest daughter who came back from Australia to take care of her and recite the shahadah. The cancer had spread to her bones, her body was shutting down, I assure you, indeed she suffered.

Had my aunt been euthanized, she would not have had the chance to talk to her children, or recite the shahadah. As Muslims we are forbidden to commit suicide. Any suffering is to be endured for it is Allah's willing and so be it. In conclusion, in a religious point of view, as a Muslim, I suppose it is probably haram for Muslims to consent for voluntary euthanasia. I'm not sure for the non-voluntary type though.

As a side note, I found myself unable to speak of my aunt much, felt like crying and this reminded me of my cousins. How it must still bring them pain. Still vivid in my memory, the image of my aunt's eldest son as he dug his mother's grave during the funeral. His mud stained shirt. He did not cry during the funeral. Such strength, I mean , how would YOU feel if you were to bury your own mother? Unthinkable. Exactly.

Oh, yes. I forgot to mention a key point during my discussion in class. Our lecturer, Miss Albita, gave us roles to represent various point of views regarding euthanasia. We were divided into five groups namely the human rights organisation, the patient/sick people, family member, spouse and doctors. I was in the patient/sick people group.

Initially, the patient/sick people and the human rights organisation group were the only groups who stood for against euthanasia while the remaining groups supported it. After much discussing the outcome is as I have stated before: Mainly against euthanasia. Through this method of grouping we could analyse the issue in a rather thorough manner.

The groups who initially stood for supporting euthanasia brought up ideas of 'Mercy killing', 'monetory matters', and the redundacy of the existence of people who are in a coma or ones who suffers from PVS (Presistent Vegetative State). Or they would rouse ideas such as "I would rather die than suffer pain for a prolonged time". <---In my opinion this is stupid because I think nobody can actually preceive such a thing until they are actually in such a situation.

To delve deeper in this isuue, mentioning Terri Schiavo's case is a must. Check out her story, and if you will, I would like to know what you think of euthanasia. What is your stand? For? Against? Somewhere in between?

UPDATE: Uh, I might've caused some confusion. By "assisted suicide" I meant PHYSICIAN assicted suicide. =.= As in, doctor assisted suicide usually performed on terminally ill patients. Terminally ill patients are those who're expected to have only UP to 6 more motnths to live.

18/20.

Got back my ESLS (English as a Secondary Language Studies) pairwork essay assignment this morning. The one about The Wimbledon Championships :) I got 18/20. Heh. I am very pleased with it indeed.

Nyahaha. Anyways~ I have another pairwork essay. This time around, the topic that I chose is to compare two gaming platforms. I decided to pit the Sony PlayStation 3 against the Nintendo Wii. Hoho. Ergo the title is: PlayStation 3 VS. Nintendo Wii.

I love that the topics my lecturer give, (so far) always have ONE that suits my interests. Which is cool. Nothing could be more dull than having to write a 600 - 800 words essay on a topic you have no interest in...except for watching paint dry maybe. That would be excruciatingly dull.

So, ONWARDS with my essay writing~

When the doctor becomes the patient...

Look what I found~
YESSS!!! HOUSE Season 6 Promo #1 :D

Wilson: "House?"
House: "Yes. How many other friends you have in the asylum."
(Isn't Wilson just stinkin' cute?!!! Bwhahah)

Season 6 of HOUSE MD will have a 2 hour premier sometime in September this year. Can't wait! *excited as heck*

HOUSE aside, I've been meaning to blog about the oh-so-epic book To Kill A Mocking Bird and Life of Pi by Yann Martel but haven't really go time to indulge. What else? OF COURSE.

I've been meaning to blog about Roger Federer's 15th slam (Wimbledon 2009) !!! I WILL blog bout Roger, SOON. This weekend perhaps~ Speaking of Wimbledon, I did an English essay (college assignment) about it.

The question of the essay being:

"If you can attend a major sports championship game, which would you choose to attend? Why?"

I picked The Wimbledon Championships. It's a pairwork essay, I worked on it with my housemate Fatimah (she sits next to me in class) who's also a Tennis fan. Well, Rafa's fan to be exact haha. I must say, it's a bit weird working on an essay with another person. I do get a teency bit obsessive when it comes to essay, I think I got a little carried away with it. But it's all good. Better be overzealous than unmotivated eyh? Again, it all comes back to CARPE DIEM.

The 5 paragraph and 600-800 word limit annoys me a little though. I simply don't think essays should be limited to a mere 5 paragraphs! But oh well. Not that it matters much I suppose.

What else? Oh yes. I've another Computer Science assignment too, a 15 min power point presentation in which we have to advertise a product. I'm the leader of a group of 5. I'm thinking of advertising GPS shoes, they're pretty new, designed by Isaac Daniels. Not confirmed yet though. Am hoping my team members will give some more suggestions on our meeting next Monday. They'd better rise to the ocassion! I'm not letting other people jeorpadize my 30% carry marks! I'm not much of a group-project-person, so I gotta plan this properly...

Sheesh. Enough on assignments. I'VE MANAGED TO BOOK 6 TICKETS FOR HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE in GSC, Alamanda for this Saturday! WOOOOO. Am gonna watch it with my parents, Adi, nirah and possibly Adila too~ *excited as heckkkkk*

P.S: Did you spot Wilson in the promo? Of course you did~ Ain't he adorable? He sure is~ :P

Things That Keeps Me SANE.

(Yes. David Archuleta keeps me sane. Besides he cheers this whiny post up :D)

I'm going to college next week. 28th of JUNE 2009 which is a Sunday to be precise. Am feeling the blues approaching. Things are worst for one of my best friends though. I'm not complaining, just feel the need to whine. Childish & spoilt I am.

Things are gonna be tough. I feel like listing the things I'll miss:

1. My lil bro, ADI. My parents. (I'm a such a baby D:)

2. My room/air cond. (I'm spoilt)

3. My pet cat, Fluffy.

4. My PIANO. AUGHHHHHH....NOOOOO.

5. TIME to indulge in stuff I like. (a.k.a time to procrastinate).

6. TV: LIVE Tennis/HOUSE/Mythbusters/Man VS. Wild 3/Cartoons.

7. Kak Ema. My maid. (She does everything. Again, I'm SPOILT)

Pretty much EVERYTHING that I have now. But really my piano (NO.4). It keeps me sane. Helps me destress. I need it. NEED it. Okay, I'm exagerrating. But without NO.1,2,3,5,6 & 7......I don't know how the HECK I'm gonna cope without NO.4!

As for NO.6 ...ROGERRRR AUGH. ROGER, WIMBLEDON, ROGER, WIMBLEDON, ROGERRRRR. ROGERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

Thank god, I've finished watching HOUSE. Thanks a MILLION Mai for giving me the episodes!

I may be childish but I'm not stupid. I've been granted a scholarship (alhamdulillah) to STUDY. I've been given the means to achieve what I aim to be, a DENTIST. Which will be a career that shall define me & my life. To be SUCESSFUL has always been what I wanted. I'm determined.

But just for a moment. I'd like to whine.
